Dear Ashley Park PreK-8 School families,
When our school was built in 1950, it was one of the first open campuses in the Charlotte area. Since then, Ashley Park has served generations of families in the West Charlotte area. In 2012, the school expanded from an elementary school serving 250 scholars to a PreK-8 school serving 500. We are currently expanding our school with a new cafeteria, gym and elective wing, all on target to be completed by August.
Ashley Park operates as a family. In accordance with our mission, we provide academic skills and habits of character to ensure scholars both believe in and fulfill their limitless potential in high school, college and beyond. We believe in the inherent talent, value, perspective and authenticity of each of our scholars. We teach our scholars the values of grit, kindness, teamwork and leadership. We maximize each moment, each day to ensure each of our scholars are receiving high quality education. We have the privilege of teaching many of them for up to 10 years, from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. We deeply value communication, collaboration and partnership with our families to ensure we are meeting every scholar’s needs. We also work in partnership with the Greater Enrichment Program (GEP) and Urban Promise to provide close to 200 of our families with free after-school care.
At Ashley Park, we provide Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) Saturday experiences for K-8. We also provide middle school athletics, Project Lead the Way, and Math I and Spanish I credits. We also work with Schermco and Wells Fargo to provide monthly family nights that focus on education and connection for our teachers and families. Our efforts are paying off: In the last three academic years, Ashley Park has moved up a letter grade and exceeded or met the state standards for expected growth.
