Dear Ballantyne Elementary School families,
At Ballantyne Elementary School (BES), we are committed to continuous improvement for students and staff. We work collaboratively with our BES teams, students, families, and the community to personalize instruction in a digital learning environment. We strive to build a strong educational foundation for each and every child to be college and career ready. At Ballantyne Elementary School, we promote good character and work to create lifelong learners, one child at a time. At BES, we strive to be the BES-T!
Ballantyne Elementary School is a personalized learning school. We work to personalize instruction building on student strengths and areas for growth. We have also been designated a North Carolina School of Excellence.
Let me tell you a little about myself. I have been an educator in CMS my entire 20-year career – in fact, I began teaching here as a student teacher while still in college! I earned my bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Western Carolina University and my master’s degree in educational leadership from Winthrop University. I am a National Board-certified teacher in literacy. At CMS, I have been a teacher, a literacy facilitator, an academic facilitator, an assistant principal and a principal. My husband and I have two amazing children. We love supporting our children during their softball, baseball and basketball games. I also love my job and I want every child and family to have the best educational experience at my school. I believe that we must work together as a team to help our children grow and succeed. I believe all students can be leaders -- leaders of their learning, leaders of their behavior and leaders in the school and community.
Thank you for choosing Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and Ballantyne Elementary.
