How Do I Apply to CEEC?

1-Enroll in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools

  • For Participation in the Choice Lottery before December 6, 2021

2- Obtain your child’s Identification Number and PIN

  • This will be mailed to your home a few weeks after enrollment

  • You can call the Magnet Office at 980-343-5030 if you do not receive the ID and PIN numbers needed to participate in the First Lottery

3- Research the Magnet Schools

  • www.cmschoice.org

4- Enter the School Options Selection Form ONLINE

  • http://www.cms.k12.nc.us/application

December 6, 2021-January 21, 2022

Please note:

  1. Transportation will be provided if the magnet school serves the student’s identified transportation zone or is a county-wide magnet program.
  2. Students are only waitlisted for their first choice in the lottery.
  3. Don’t reapply for the 2nd Lottery if you have been waitlisted for your school preference: you will hurt your chances!
