As part of CMS’s commitment to school safety, the District has installed a buzz-in station at the main entrance of our school. The buzz-in station includes an intercom and a security camera. All doors to the school will lock from the outside. All parents and visitors will be required to punch an intercom button (top white button), state their name and purpose of their visit in order to gain entry to the school. Office staff will make a visual and verbal determination prior to granting the visitor access to the school.
“Lobby Guard”
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Academy has a sign in computer for visitors called “Lobby Guard.” Visitors and Volunteers will be required to sign in with their North Carolina Driver’s License. This system will take a picture of the visitor in order to keep track of who is in the building in case of an Emergency. Each Visitor must wear a name tag. Office staff will assist you when needed.
