AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a college readiness program designed to help all students develop skills needed for success post-graduation. The program emphasizes WICOR. WICOR stands for writing, inquiry (critical thinking), collaboration, organization, and reading skills. Middle school students were selected based on interest, interview, and current academic standing. Although all students will not be in the AVID elective, each student at CCA will engage in WICOR and maintain an AVID binder.
