How to login to your CHROMEBOOK when you see the CMS filtering screen

for students in grades 3-8. Once you are logged in, then proceed to how to login

to Canvas (see below-scroll down).

  1. Have students log into the Chromebook with their normal Student ID and password

  2. They will then get the 1st message pictured above where they should then put their User ID as their student number and the following........(1234567@cms.k12.nc.us) NOT @STUDENT

  3. They will then get the 2nd message pictured above where they will re-enter their User ID as the Student Number @cms (1234567@cms.k12.nc.us) NOT @STUDENT

  4. Then have students use their birthday as the password in the following format: 4 digit year, 2 digit month, 2 digit day (20091225)

  5. If you still have trouble logging in please contact your child's homeroom teacher.


How to login to Canvas via your IPad (students in grades k-2) and Chromebook once you pass the CMS filtering (students in grades 6-8).

    1. Go to canvas.cmslearns.org

    2. Click “Login with NCEDCLOUD IAM”

    3. Login with student Number- click go

    4. Students in grades K-2 enter student password click Cmsx2033  (capital Cmsx_ _ _ _ year of graduation) click GO

    5. Students in grades 6-8 Enter student password –yyyymmdd, click GO 
    6. Student will see the canvas dashboard
