Former Eastway Student Gets Scholarship


QuestBridge National College Match is a national program that connects high achieving high school seniors from low-income backgrounds with full, four-year scholarships to one of their 42 prestigious college partners. Over 18,000 students applied in 2020, and less than 1,500 were selected by QuestBridge and their college partners for a full ride scholarship. Eastway Deploys Solar Energy Kit to Kenya


Each year in partnership with WE CARE SOLAR, Eastway Middle School deploys a portable solar energy kit to a country in Africa.  Last school year we completed our second kit in hopes it would be installed prior to schools closing throughout the world in March.  Due to the pandemic installation was delayed, but we are excited to announce that in November of this year, our kit wast was installed in Ewaso Nyiro Primary School in Laikipia West, Kenya. The solar energy kit will provide electricity to 5 classrooms that serve 15 teachers and 465 students.

Thank you to our Eastway team in partnership with Communities in School, the Latin American Chamber of Commerce and the City of Charlotte in our free school supply and meals drive by today. We were able to provide over 400 backpacks with supplies and 200 hot meals to our families. Stay tuned to Eastway news for more events in the future.
