What's Happening at Eastway

On Saturday, October 13th, Eastway hosted the Gen-One induction ceremony.  Several 8th grade students were inducted into the Gen-One program, which was established to help future first generation college students successfully navigate the high school and college admissions process.  


This year's inductees are: Marian Jay Dakiwas, Yousssef Abdelwahed, Sandra Rios-Beltan, Brooklyn Denson, Nancy Lemus-Almanza, Secoya Rice, De-Andre Grizzle, Michelle Castenada-Silverio, Christian Guardado, Daniela Lopez, Cindy Medrano Alvarez, Claribel Hernandez, Esther Pineda Balderramos, Jason Ventura Cruz, Alan Jaramillo, Tamya Moses, Zanijah Henry, Alexis Hughes, Jacqueline Martinez Carballo, Chy’Ron Davis, and Arilyn Massey.

Staff and students at Eastway Middle School celebrated National Unity Day on October 24th.  Students and staff wore orange to signify unity, inclusion, kindness and acceptance of all cultures and people.  Students signed a banner in support of other students who may have been bullied in the past.  Eastway celebrates diversity in all academic and social activities.
