EASTWAY MIDDLE SCHOOL UNIFORM POLICY


Eastway Middle School requires all students to wear school uniforms. Students who do not wear the school uniform will be required to contact a parent to bring uniform compliant clothing to school. If needed, students will be provided a school supplied uniform to wear during the school day. Students are to return borrowed uniforms at the end of the school day.

If a student refuses to wear the provided uniform, students will be given appropriate disciplinary consequences for violation of Rule 4: Student Dress and Rule 7: Insubordination.

TOPS: solid color shirt with sleeves (with or without collar)

  • Colors: black, white, gray, blue (navy, royal, light), house assigned color
  • No graphics, no patterns, no logos, no stripes, no writing.
  • No tank tops, no camisole tops, no see through or holey tops.
  • Undergarments should not be visible through tops.

BOTTOMS: solid colored black, navy, khaki pants, jeans, shorts, skirts or dresses

  • No tears, holes, acid washed, printed or fashion embroidery.
  • No graphics, no patterns, no logos, no stripes, no writing.
  • No jeggings, no leggings, no joggers, no sweatpants, no yoga pants.
  • No undergarments should be visible.
  • Uniform shorts, skirts and dresses must be no more than 4 inches above the knee.
  • Dresses must be an approved uniform color and must have sleeves.

SHOES: Closed toe shoes are required.

  • No slides, no sandals, no house shoes, no flip-flops.

OUTERWEAR: Hoodies, sweatshirts, jackets, sweaters, coats may be worn with a uniform compliant top.

  • Uniform tops must be worn under outerwear.
  • Button up shirts/blouses do not qualify as outerwear and must be uniform compliant.
  • No school inappropriate or distracting logos or symbols to include but not limited to drugs, alcohol, tobacco, sexual references, and etc.

ACCESSORIES

  • No hats/head covering*/bandanas/head wraps.
  • No jewelry or socks with school inappropriate or distracting logos or symbols to include but not limited to drugs, alcohol, tobacco, sexual references, and etc.

*Note: Religous head covering is allowed.
