The Leader in Me

What is The Leader in Me?

In 2014, as an enhancement to the CMS Traditional Magnet program,  “The Leader In Me” process was introduced.

“The Leader in Me” is based upon the research of Dr. Stephen Covey and his “7 Habits of Highly Effective People”. It integrates the principles of leadership and effectiveness into school curriculum using every day, age-appropriate language.

Instead of seeing children through the lens of a normal distribution curve—some kids are smart and some less smart— “The Leader in Me” paradigm is that every child is capable of being a leader.

Teachers utilize Sean Covey’s book, The 7 Habits of Happy Kids.

Don’t be surprised if your child tells you to Sharpen Your Saw (create balance in your life), Think Win-Win (rather than looking for one solution) or Begin with the End in Mind (what is the goal).

Throughout the school year, ETES will host “Covey Coffee” events where families can learn more about the process. Everyone is strongly encouraged to attend.

To learn more, you may either contact your child’s teacher or the school. You may also visit the link below:
