Greetings Francis Bradley Middle School Families!
It is truly an honor to join the Bradley family as your next Principal. I look forward to continuing the Bradley tradition of community involvement, academic excellence, and celebrating staff and student achievements. I feel so fortunate to lead and work in such a caring community.
My family prioritized education growing up and because of this, I was afforded many of the opportunities that allowed me to grow in the field of education. I graduated from Ohio University with an undergraduate degree in Secondary Mathematics Education and a minor in Mathematics; and earned my graduate degree from Wingate University in Educational Leadership. This will be my sixteenth year serving in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Prior to Bradley Middle School, I served as Assistant Principal for 8 years at Hopewell High School, was a Math teacher at Rocky River High School for 4 years; and taught Math at Garinger High School for 3 years. My primary work at Hopewell High School was centered around social-emotional learning; strengthening the Bradley-Hopewell feeder pattern; and increasing academic outcomes as they pertain to Math 1, grade-level promotion for students, graduation status, and career and college opportunities for students.
On a personal note, my wife Cheryl and I have lived in Mecklenburg County for our entire professional careers and have two young boys, Conner and Ethan. I am a Native Ohioan - Go Buckeyes, Go Browns and Go Guardians! Relationships are at the core of my values as a leader. Most importantly, I believe that students are at the center of all school-related decisions. Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I encourage you to become involved with our school. There will be multiple opportunities for you to learn more about me as your Principal in the coming days - check our website and parent communication avenues for more information. I look forward to meeting you soon, and thank the Bradley community for their warm welcome.
Go Mavericks!
