2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR PROSPECTIVE PARENTS

Welcome to Greenway Park Elementary School, where each child is recognized as an individual, and all children succeed. At Greenway Park Elementary School, we serve Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth Grade students. Academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and success for all are our primary goals.

In 2018, Greenway Park was selected to add a Creative Arts and Sciences Magnet program that began during the 2018-2019 school year. Students in 3rd-5th grade who are enrolled in our Magnet choose both a major and minor for their Creative Arts focus. These focus areas include Band, Orchestra, Dance, General Music, Visual Arts, Theatre Arts and an array of Sciences. Greenway Park is proud to be part of the NC A+ Schools network, which is an elite group of schools across the US committed to growing students academically and socially/emotionally by integrating creative arts in the core curricula.

PROSPECTIVE PARENT OPEN HOUSE EVENTS

We invite you to attend and learn more about GPES at our fall 2020 Open House events where you’ll hear from our principal, teachers and parent representatives.

The current schedule is as follows:

Sunday December 6th at 6:00 PM

Please Note: If you were not able to attend one of our virtual Open House events but are interested in GPES for the 2021-2022 school year, email kaitlynv.millar@cms.k12.nc.us and we will be happy to share the event recording with you.

SCHOOL OPTIONS/MAGNET LOTTERY

GPES is a partial magnet school, therefore, interested magnet students must both enroll in CMS AND enter the CMS School Options lottery in order to be eligible to obtain a lottery seat at GPES. For more information about enrolling in CMS, the School Options lottery, various magnet programs, deadlines, transportation, and FAQs please visit the CMS School Choice website.
