Beginner's Day Presentation 2022

 

Overview of the Montessori Classroom:

  •  PreK through 6th grade (8 year program)

  • mutli-age classrooms

  • full time teacher and teacher assistant

  • one-on-one and small group lessons

  • after receiving lessons, students are permitted to choose work 

  • move from working with concrete materials to abstration

Expectations of a Montessori Student:

  • follows multi-step directions

  • focuses on tasks and lessons to completion

  • demonstrates self-control and body control

Summer activities to prepare for next school year:

  • read everyday

  • tell stories

  • play I spy with beginning letter sounds

  • count everything

  • maintain a daily routine
