Logging Into a Personal Computer With Your School Account From Home 

 

To use a school account on a personal device, there are a few additional steps to log in.  The perk is that students are on the same filtered network as at school.  Follow the directions below to register with our Zscaler security system. 

 

1.     Log in to the student Google account like you normally do.

Username: studentID@student.cms.k12.nc.us 

(example: 123456789@student.cms.k12.nc.us)

Password: YYYYMMDD 

(Birthday password - ex: 20090812 = August 8, 2009)

 

2.                 Once you enter the first website, you will encounter the filtering process.

Type in your username like this:
          StudentID@cms.k12.nc.us
          
(Notice the word student is removed from the domain this time)

 

3.                 Last screen of credentials type in your

Username: studentID@cms.k12.nc.us (again the word student is missing from the domain)

Password: YYYYMMDD (Birthdate)
