Mr. Christopher Bernard was named principal at James Martin Middle on August 10, 2021 at the monthly meeting of the CMS School Board. He has been principal at University Meadows Elementary since 2014.

He was dean of instruction at Druid Hills Academy (2013-2014); resident principal, New Leaders at Druid Hills Academy (2012-2013); and a teacher at Bruns Avenue K-8 (2008-2012) and Hidden Valley Elementary (1999-2008). Bernard earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the State University of New York College at Buffalo, Buffalo, N.Y., and a master’s degree in elementary education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
