Students previously enrolled at CMS will use the credentials (username & password) used last school year
for all three services; NCEdCloud, Google and Windows/Active Directory.
Students newly enrolled at CMS and transferring from another NC school district, will have credentials created
for Google and Windows/Active Directory following the formula below. However, this group of students will
log into NCEdCloud using the credentials established by their previous NC school district.
Students newly enrolled in North Carolina public schools will have credentials created for all three services.
The credentials will initially be set as follows:
Chromebook Take Home Information
1. Turn on Computer
2. Connect to your home Wi-Fi
3. Log in to the Chromebook
username: studentid@student.cms.k12.nc.us
password: your Google Chrome password
4. Once you enter the first website, you will encounter the filtering process. Type in your user name as studentid@cms.k12.nc.us
5. Last screen of credentials type in
username: studentid@cms.k12.nc.us
password: YYYYMMDD (8 digit birthdate)
6. You are ready to use your Chromebook.

Parents can set up their own accounts with student access information provided by the school.
To create a new PowerSchool parent account do the following:
Using your browser, go to https://cms.powerschool.com/public/home.html.
Click the Create Account tab
Click the Create Account button
Follow the instructions and enter your account information. To link one or more students to your PowerSchool account, obtain the student's Access ID and Access Password from your student's school.
Note: You will not be able to view your student's data unless you link your student to your account with the school-provided student Access ID and Password. Please contact your child’s counselor to obtain the access id and password.
