Early Dismissals
Routine appointments should be scheduled before or after school hours. If a student must leave the school during the day for an appointment, a note should be sent to the teacher. A phone call will not be acceptable for changes in transportation. For your child’s protection, a student WILL NOT be permitted to leave school before the regular dismissal time of 3:30 p.m., unless a note has been received.
The note should include:
1. name of student
2. date
3. reason for early dismissal
4. time of early dismissal
5. name of person picking up child
6. Teacher’s name
It is necessary for the parent or guardian to sign the child’s name and his/her name on the sign in/sign out sheet provided in the office for early dismissals. Parents will not be permitted to pick up students from the classroom. Students will be called to the office once parent has signed out the child.
In order to avoid confusion and disruption of school dismissal, early dismissal will end at 3:00 p.m. After 3:00 p.m., early dismissal will not be allowed. This is for safety purposes. Parents will have to follow normal dismissal procedures by waiting in the car rider lane. No parents should come to the front door to pick up a child at dismissal. Please stay in your car!
*If your child rides an after school day care van, the Day Care Center should be called when your child leaves school early.
If you have any questions, please email our Attendance Office.
