Welcome and thank you for visiting the Principal's Page for Mountain Island Lake Academy! I previously served our school community as the Assistant Principal and was humbled and ecstatic to transition into the role of principal.  My previous years of administrative and teaching experience began in Metro Nashville Public Schools as a middle school teacher and AVID Coordinator.  After transitioning to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, I returned to the classroom to open Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School. I then entered administration serving as the assistant principal at Steele Creek ES, Tuckaseegee LI/TD Magnet School, and finally landing on "The Island." It has been my pleasure to serve students, parents, faculty & staff in the diverse and dynamic Mt. Island Lake & Coulwood communities.

As a third-generation educator and parent, I have a deep appreciation for students’ cognitive, social-emotional development, civic responsibility, appreciation of fine arts, and athleticism.  I eagerly support our teachers as they collaborate with each other to prepare all Mountain Island Lake Academy students for the best high schools & colleges--and most importantly, the school of life.

Please come visit and introduce yourself when you see me at the school or in the community!  Whether you're interested in learning more about our STEM-education focus, Cambridge International Program, Balanced Literacy Program, and other academic offerings or simply visiting a place where learning is innovative, exciting, and reflective of excellence...c'mon over!  We're thankful for our history and excited about our future!  There's no doubt that "The Island" is the premier choice of education in Northwest Charlotte.  We're changing the world--one student, one community, one vision!
