Meet The Principal

I am beyond elated to be the principal of Newell Elementary School. I am a mother of 2 children, a published author, an entrepreneur, and a lifelong learner.  I know and consider myself a model for how hard work pays off.

I can’t wait to engage with our students, families, and staff members during the new school year.  I believe in building relationships from day one.  I have a passion for teaching and learning, I am data-driven and will use data to drive instruction and decisions.  I believe in educating the whole child beyond their academics.  It takes a village, so strong partnerships with parents and the community is paramount.  My experiences have been in Title One schools, I am aware of the challenges we often face, but I am confident and committed to working as a team in order to conquer any challenges that may arise. The feeling of family is what led me back to Newell.  I feel like I have returned home.

Please feel free to contact me through email at kyerrao.oglesby@cms.k12.nc.us  or contact me by phone at 980-343-6820.  I am excited to be a part of the Wolfpack!
