All Things Google
Your CMS Google account is used to sign into the Chromebook, Google School Email, Google Drive, Docs, etc. In other words, ALL THINGS GOOGLE!
Login: STUDENTID#@student.cms.k12.nc.us
Original Password*: YYYYMMDD (Birthdate)
*Students may have changed this in the past. Passwords were not reset for the new school year, so it should be the same password you had at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.
Teachers have the ability to reset student passwords using the Google Reset Extension that is installed on all teacher Google accounts. Students should contact one of their teachers or submit the Chromebook Reporting Form to request a password reset.
Filter Login
Once you are on the device, you will have to sign in again, but this time to the Internet Filter. This process will take you through two screens. The first one has a green outline around the login message and the second screen has blue on the left and asks you to log in with your organizational account.
Username: StudentID#@cms.k12.nc.us NOTE: there is no 'student' after the @
Password: YYYYMMDD (birthdate)
*Students can now use their Google email address (same as they use to log into the Chromebook). It will bypass the second log in screen. Also, students now only have to log into Z-scaler (the filter) once every seven days instead of every session on the Chromebook.
