THEATRE education is an immersive experience at Northwest, and our program is innovative, rigorous and lively. Our students are challenged, creatively and intellectually, as they work to perfect their craft under some of the finest scholars and theatre-makers in the nation.

Students at NWSA enjoy many performance opportunities, and work closely with the dance, visual arts and music departments to fully produce musicals, plays and other events.

Many of our alumni have gone on to pursue successful careers in theatre — as makers, teachers, or both. Some enter arts administration or management, or a host of other related professional careers.

Pursue the spotlight – and be ready for college or career

Northwest offers specialized courses not found at any other middle or high school in the state. We offer four tracks for theatre majors:

  • Theatre

  • Musical Theatre

  • Costume Design

  • Technical Theatre

Visit the NWSA Theatre Arts Guild (opens in new window) to stay up-to-date on all things THEATRE at NWSA!
