Volunteers

At Oaklawn, we acknowledge how much parent involvement matters and significantly impacts student achievement. Our goal is for 100% participation by every parent, guardian or loved one of an Oaklawn student. We also invite our community partners to include us in their efforts to adopt-a-school, mentor a child or share your career experiences with our students. We have many volunteer opportunities to include tutoring, joining and helping with PTA activities, chaperoning a field trip, being a Lunch Buddy, helping in the Health Room, being a Reading Buddy, helping the school for special events and more.

For general information about being a Volunteer in CMS go to http://www.cms.k12.nc.us/volunteersandpartners/Pages/default.aspx

We invite you to come as a working parent or stay at home parent – there are plenty of ways you can help. Being a volunteer is a valuable and rewarding experience. If you know someone who does not have computer access and would like to become a volunteer, please come by the school and we will be happy to assist you.

For questions about any of our volunteer opportunities and/or being a volunteer at Oaklawn, please call our school at 980-343-0400.
