Chess ClubOur Chess Club meets Tuesday during school hours (from 3:15 - 4:15) and on Friday mornings before school (from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM). We are a national award winning team that welcomes all levels of players. If you are interested in joining the chess club, please contact Ms. Range. Science Olympiad Our Science Olympiad team is very competitive with the district and regional schools. Science Olympiad relies on parent volunteers to support the multiple teams and categories. Last year (2021-2022), C.H. Parker competed in 17 events and placed in 14 of them. Science Olympiad provides hands-on, inquiry-based activities that challenge students in grades 3-5 to build their own understanding of basic scientific concepts, like measurement, force, engineering design, and energy. Girls on the Run
Over a period of 10 weeks, girls in the 3rd through 5th grade participate in an after-school program like no other. Designed to allow every girl to recognize her inner strength, the Girls on the Run curriculum inspires girls to define their lives on their own terms. Throughout the season, the girls make new friends, build their confidence and celebrate all that makes them unique.If you are interested in learning more about GOTR, please contact Ms. Glaze. National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS)The NEHS Chapter at Parker is organized for scholars that excel in their studies and offers them a chance to give back to the community. Fire and Life Safety Bowl TeamOur FLSB team were COUNTY and STATE Champions in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 where they brought over $10,000 in winnings to Barringer. If you are interested in more information about the Fire and Life Safety Bowl, please contact Ms. Range.Student Chorus The chorus is open to any 4th and 5th grade students who show interest in singing. We will practice on Tuesday mornings from 8:00 – 8:45 beginning in September. Our focus will be to learn the basics of singing in a choir, provide performance opportunities, and to serve as a public relationship tool between school and community.
