Odyssey of the Mind

Odyssey of the Mind is an international creative problem-solving program that engages students in their learning by allowing their knowledge and ideas to come to life in an exciting, productive environment. Participants build self-confidence, develop life skills, create new friendships, and are able to recognize and explore their true potential. OotM proves that students can have fun while they learn.  If you are interested in participating in OotM, please contact Ms. Range.

Chess Club

Our Chess Club meets Tuesday during school hours (from 3:15 - 4:15) and on Friday mornings before school (from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM).  We are a national award winning team that welcomes all levels of players.  If you are interested in joining the chess club, please contact Ms. Range.

 Science Olympiad

Our Science Olympiad team is very competitive with the district and regional schools.  Science Olympiad relies on parent volunteers to support the multiple teams and categories.  Last year (2021-2022), C.H. Parker competed in 17 events and placed in 14 of them.  Science Olympiad provides hands-on, inquiry-based activities that challenge students in grades 3-5 to build their own understanding of basic scientific concepts, like measurement, force, engineering design, and energy. For more information, please contact Ms. Sloley.

Girls on the Run

Over a period of 10 weeks, girls in the 3rd through 5th grade participate in an after-school program like no other. Designed to allow every girl to recognize her inner strength, the Girls on the Run curriculum inspires girls to define their lives on their own terms. Throughout the season, the girls make new friends, build their confidence and celebrate all that makes them unique. If you are interested in learning more about GOTR, please contact Ms. Glaze.
