Pineville's school counselors are Mrs. Samantha Andrews and Ms. Tara Mills. Mrs. Andrews and Ms. Mills provide counseling to students on an as-needed basis. The mission of the Pineville Elementary Counseling department is to provide access to an equitable, student centered environment that holds high expectations for academic achievement, personal/social interactions, and career development for each student in a warm, caring environment that values cultural diversity.  We will collaborate with our stakeholders to provide every student with a comprehensive school counseling program.  We will eliminate barriers that impede students  from becoming effective lifelong learners.  Our success will be measured by analyzing outcome data.

Ms. Rachana Shah, MSW, LCSW (School Social Worker)

I received my master's in social work at UNC Charlotte in 2014. I have been the school social worker at Pineville Elementary since Spring of 2021. Prior to joining CMS, I worked as a clinical social worker for six years at a nonprofit mental health agency. I have enjoyed getting to know students and families at Pineville Elementary and I look forward to another great school year! As the school social worker, it is my role to promote academic achievement by linking families with school-based and community resources. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime you are in need of support.
