I am excited about another year with such a nurturing, enthusiastic, and enriching school community. The “Winning Team” certainly expresses the expectations that we have here at Pinewood Elementary. My connection with Pinewood began during my student teaching experience in 1999. I continued to serve here for nine years as a third grade teacher and then transitioned to become the Assistant Principal from 2008-2014 and currently serving as  the Principal.

I am a native of Camden, New Jersey and have resided in North Carolina for the past seventeen years. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree at Johnson C. Smith University in (1998), Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers (2005), Masters of Education in Curriculum and Supervision from University of North Carolina at Charlotte (2005), and Certification in Administration from Winthrop University (2006). I have completed the Cahn's Fellows program for Distinguished Principals through Teacher's College in New York City in 2018.

I look forward to supporting the teachers, students, parents, and community to continue to create a learning environment that encourages, challenges and enriches the lives of the students that we serve here at Pinewood. I will continue to have “High Expectations” for myself, students, teachers and staff members so that we prepare students for the 21st century.
