About Our School

poloridgeThe primary goal of our school is to develop and maintain a culture that fosters positive interpersonal relationships, promotes academic excellence, and emphasizes respect for cultural diversity.  To meet the needs of our children, we will utilize a variety of instructional strategies which include differentiated instruction, flexible grouping, inclusive practices, experimental learning, and data-driven instruction.  All instruction will focus on the development of critical thinking skills.  The expected outcome is not only high growth in academic achievement for every student but that we are also meeting their social and emotional needs.

Polo Ridge is a neighborhood school that received a school grade of an A for the 2018-2019 school year.  Forty-eight classroom teachers are supported by 10 teacher assistants in addition to the following support staff: one full-time art, music, physical education, technology, and media teacher, one half-time physical education, art, and music teacher, one talent development catalysts teacher, two literacy facilitators, three school counselors, a school psychologist, one EL teacher, three EC teachers, one Assistant Principal, one Dean of Students, and a Principal.  Of our teachers, 65% have five years of experience or more and over 40% of our teachers hold advanced degrees.  All teacher assistants are utilized as instructional assistants and are responsible for working with students in small groups during workshop time throughout the school.  Developing the whole child is a priority which is why we offer numerous before and after school enrichment clubs that target students' interest. We also offer a Before and After School Education Program which operates daily from 6:45-8:15 and 3:45-6:00.

Vision Statement

The Polo Ridge family will work collaboratively to continue the development of social skills, character, and academic knowledge of every child.  We will celebrate the diversity of all students in a nurturing and caring environment.  Students will experience the joy of learning and the sense of accomplishment that results from performing at their highest potential.

Mission Statement

Polo Ridge staff and community will engage, nurture and inspire respect for life-long learning.
