Fall 2016

Rama Road Elementary was recognized as a NC PBIS Green Ribbon School for establishing a schoolwide PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention & Support) set of expectations for all students and staff during the 2015-2016 school year. In its first year of implementation, fewer than 4% of students received a behavior referral.

October 13, 2016

Fox 46 honors Rama Road Elementary Special Education Teacher as a Teacher Getting Results. Mrs. Hubbard teaches Kindergarten, First and Second Grade students with special needs in a self-contained SAC class. She is an incredible teacher and advocates heavily for all students to receive the best possible instruction every day. As part of this recognition, Mrs. Hubbard was recorded for a special evening segment on Channel 46 FOX News and was interviewed live on television the next morning. She also received a trophy and $100 gift card from Bojangles.Students in the class celebrated with cupcakes and goodies provided by Fox 46.​  ​RAMA PROUD!

January 16, 2​017

5th Graders, Makayla Brown and Ava Haire, won recognition with their art and writing entries in the CMS Martin Luther King, Jr. Art & Writing Contest. Makayla won 1st place in the district for grades 3-5 students with her poem "Silent Mouths". Ava won at the school level with her art entry "Unheard Voices". RAMA PROUD of these two scholars!​

February 2017

Rama Road Elementary was recognized by Let's Move Active Schools, a national initiative to increase student physical activity. Rama Road elementary schools was recognized for having outstanding physical education activity and practices. Our school will receive $250 for the award. A special thank you to Ms. Jill McDaniel, PE Teacher, for the outstanding work she has done to ensure that every student at RRES has access to the best physical education instruction of any school in CMS.

Rama Road Elementary was officially recognized today at the state level for being a NC PBIS MODEL School for the 2016-17 school year. Ms. Allen and Mrs. Maltese represented our school today in Greensboro for this recognition. Congratulations to all of our teachers and students for the hard work and continued effort each day to make our school such a special place for every child to learn!
