At Rama Road, the population of our students is extremely diverse- there are over 30 countries represented at our school alone! We believe that students need to start to think "globally" at the earliest age possible. We believe that as technology increases and Charlotte becomes a melting pot of cultures, it is important to give our students a sense of local and global identity.
In the 2017-18 school year, Rama Road will continue to focus on Globalization. Globalization, as defined by National Geographic, is the connection of different parts of the world. As people, ideas, knowledge, and goods move more easily around the globe, the experiences of people around the world become more similar.
Each grade level will be connected with a school in the country of their choice. Globalization will be integrated throughout the curriculum to create an overall understanding of the country they are studying, as well as the ability to understand that students around the world share many of the same qualities due to globalization. Communication will be facilitated with students around the globe all year long in order for students to grow in comparison, global awareness, and communication near and far.
