Dear Families, Community Members, Staff, and Students, I want to welcome you to Reedy Creek Elementary for the 2020-2021 school year. I am honored to be a part of this school and community that has been in operation since 1981. The school continues to serve approximately 900 scholars in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. My vision is to continue to create a safe school climate where all scholars can achieve, and teachers are empowered to be creative educators. I have learned that since 1981, Reedy Creek has continued to display academic success. As evidenced over the past several years of data trends, scholars have exceeded or met state growth projections. My goal, as your new principal, is to ensure that this success continues.
I come to you with 25 years of educational experience and I am eager to get to work to meet the needs of our school and our students.
Our focus going forward is on providing a safe and emotionally supportive academic environment organized around the state’s guidelines to reopen schools. What exactly this looks like, is still unclear. I can assure you that as soon as I have information, that information will be shared with each of you in a variety of communication avenues.
I believe all students can learn. When students learn in a safe and nurturing environment, they will strive to attain exceptionally high levels of academic achievement. This learning environment may look different than it has in the past, but our partnership can make this a successful journey for our students.
I am looking forward to a wonderful year at Reedy Creek Elementary. There will be updates posted regularly, and we encourage you to join us on Facebook to get updated daily. It takes a cohesive, well-tuned team to be successful.
Sincerely,
Rachel (Goldberg) Corn
Principal, Reedy Creek Elementary
