Afterschool Activities for
Dilworth Elementary Students
From childcare to sports, students at Dilworth Elementary have the opportunity to participate in several school AND non school sponsored clubs and activities.
The following activities are offered at our Latta Campus*:
After School Enrichment Program (ASEP)-This is the only after school program run by the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System. You can find out more information by visiting the website.
Tom Sykes Recreation Center- Tom Sykes offers a variety of programs. These activities are housed inside Dilworth Elementary-Latta Campus but are run by Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation.
Tennis Clinics- Midwood Tennis Academy offers sessions for all levels of play. This is an outside vendor who utilizes our tennis facilities.
Little Sticks Lacrosse- Is an introduction to the game of lacrosse. This is an outside vendor who utilizes our fields.
Jolie South Dance - This is an outside vendor who gathers students at the Latta Campus and walks students to their studio.
Other activities that have been scheduled in the past include:
Girls on the Run
Let Me Run
Chess: Currently offered at both campuses on Wednesdays. Students at the Sedgefield campus must stay at the SC.
These activities utilize our space but are outside vendors. Please contact them directly or visit their websites for sign up information. Information can also be found on the Dilworth Elementary PTA website.
*CMS will provide a bus (currently the BLUE bus) from the Dilworth-Sedgefield Campus to the Latta Campus for students participating in school approved clubs/activities. In order for CMS to plan and provide adequate bus transportation, all participants requiring transportation every afternoon to the Latta Campus MUST fill out an alternate bus stop request form and contact your child’s teacher. This form does not need to be filled out if your child does not go to the Latta campus every day.
**It is extremely important that parents communicate their students’ means of afternoon transportation with their students’ teacher.
