Welcome

Dear West Mecklenburg High School families,

West Mecklenburg High School has a rich tradition of excellence and pride.  Located in suburban West Charlotte minutes from Charlotte-Douglass International Airport, we take pride in serving a diverse population of over 1200 students and families. Our school campus features a variety of amenities including football and baseball stadium, softball field, practice fields, tennis courts and is home to a brand new Gymnasium opening in the 21-22 School year.

West Mecklenburg High School is a Cambridge International School and has a strong commitment to excellence and exposing students to post-secondary options.  In addition to Cambridge secondary and advanced coursework, students at West Mecklenburg have the opportunity to take courses in one of nine (9) Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways that allow students to gain real-world experience and industry certifications in key technical and service fields.  West Mecklenburg High School houses a thriving construction department, partnering with college programs to place students in the field.  In addition, there is a full Cosmetology Lab and Industrial Kitchen supporting our Cosmetology and Culinary Pathways respectively.

My career in education began as a Social Studies Teacher right here in CMS in 2006, working at Hopewell High School.  My journey has taken through several different schools and experiences, moving on from teaching and coaching at Hopewell to Harding University High School as a Dean of Students and later to Garinger High School as an Assistant Principal.  From there, I moved to Highland Renaissance Academy eventually settling in at home, here at West Mecklenburg High School as an Assistant Principal of Instruction and now, the proud principal of the Hawks.  I am a proud Graduate of Utica College of Syracuse University where I earned a Major in Social Studies and minored in Secondary Education.  Following my move to the Carolinas, I earned my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Gardner Webb University and have been committed to working with and serving students, staff and Families of Charlotte Mecklenburg School ever since.

As principal of West Mecklenburg High School, I am committed to seeing every student succeed. Every student at West Mecklenburg will graduate with a post-secondary plan designed to prepare them for success after they leave our halls.  Our school community believes in providing students with a safe and comfortable environment that allows them to realize their true potential and to have a robust and meaningful educational experience that prepares them for life after high school.

I look forward to working with you and your student. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have issues or questions at casimir.bundrick@cms.k12.nc.us and 980.343.6080.

Thank you for choosing Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
