School History

Whitewater Academy opened in 2008.

in 2009, Whitewater Middle School opened next door.

In 2010, Pawtuckett Elementary closed and those students merged into Whitewater Academy.

Currently, Whitewater Academy has 825 students, 35 of those are in our PK program.

School Visits

We encourage parents to visit our school and have lunch with their child. These visits should be

arranged in advance with the child’s teacher. When you visit our school, please make sure you

have scheduled an appointment with your child’s teacher. We protect our instructional time and

want to provide the best for your child.

When you visit, please report to the front office, always have your ID with you and be prepared

to sign into our computer system. We have a system that is in place in every CMS school that

requires visitors to present their ID and register each time they visit. It is required to wear the

name badge that is printed out during your visit at our school.

School Hours

Our school hours are 7:15-3:15 Class begins promptly at 7:45 and dismissal begins at 2:45.

Please know that students cannot be dropped off before 7:15 AM in the morning. There is not

an adult to receive your child.

Students cannot be released before 1:30 for early dismissal

Any person picking up a student must be on the student’s emergency card and must be

prepared to show a picture ID.

We will not release children to any person not on the authorized pick up list.

School Lunch

Whitewater Academy is part of a program called Community Eligibility Provision Program. All

students can eat breakfast and lunch each day with NO CHARGE. Parents are not required to

complete any forms for this. Students are welcome to bring their own lunch; however, if they do

not have their lunch, they must receive a school lunch.

If your child has allergies or special dietary needs, please complete the approriate paperwork

with our Cafeteria Manager, Mr. Holman.
