Welcome to Rama Road Elementary School! The PTA Executive Board would like to tell you about our organization to help you be an advocate of your child's education. A list of upcoming meetings and PTA officers is listed below. We invite you to become a member of our PTA. What is PTA?
A Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a volunteer group composed of parents, teachers, and staff and is intended to facilitate parental participation. Our Rama Road PTA is focused on creating the best possible educational experience for our children. We strive to maintain an atmosphere where teachers, administrators, and staff can do their best work, so our children can too.
Fundraisers & Programs
Our primary objective as PTA is to provide our school with funds, programs, resources, and services that will enrich and maximize the education of every child. To meet this important objective and afford services that are no longer covered by school budgets, we raise money to provide our classrooms with technology, supplies, cultural arts, book fairs, author readings, field trip supplements, interactive experiences, and more!
The Rama DANCE-A-THON (April) is our biggest fundraiser. Each year, this event raises thousands of dollars for our school. Our community involvement event is RAMAFEST (October). We also collect labels from household items, BoxTops and Labels for Education, and partner with retail chains (Harris Teeter and Target REDcard) to bring in additional PTA funding.

Amazon Smile
When shopping on Amazon.com, visit Amazon Smile and designate Rama Road as the charitable organization of your choice. Amazon will donate 0.5% of the price of your eligible Amazon Smile purchases to Rama Road PTA.
BoxTops for Education
Now a new app is in place to make this process easier. Just scan your grocery receipt and select Rama Road as the beneficiary of the donation.
Volunteering
With limited school budgets, our teachers need parental support more than ever. If you haven't already, please visit the CMS website to fill an online background check so you can volunteer. Whether you can assist once per week or once per year, it will make a huge difference and be greatly appreciated!

Over 500 independent studies have proven that when parents get involved in their children's education, grades go up, test scores improve, children are more likely to attend better schools after high school, have fewer discipline problems, and are less likely to use drugs and alcohol. Get involved TODAY!
Communication
By becoming a PTA member, you will receive important e-mail reminders and occasional text message updates about events throughout the school year. PTA members are encouraged to attend monthly meetings and school events. Members also have access to state and national PTA websites. Our Facebook group is Friends of Rama Road Elementary. Please join to receive important information throughout the year!
